Role Description
We are seeking experienced Licensed Machine Operators to join our team on a full-time basis in Northern Queensland, with a focus on the Whitsunday region. This role will support civil, construction, and site development works across GRW’s active projects, assisting in the safe and efficient operation of machinery required for earthworks, site preparation, infrastructure installation, and general project delivery.
The successful candidates will play a key role in maintaining productivity on site while ensuring all machinery is operated safely, effectively, and in accordance with project and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Operate machinery safely and efficiently across civil and construction project sites.

Perform site works including earthmoving, excavation, trenching, levelling, clearing, and material handling.

Assist with site preparation and infrastructure works in line with project requirements.

Conduct daily pre-start checks, basic maintenance, and routine care of plant and equipment.

Identify and report mechanical issues, hazards, or safety concerns promptly.

Work closely with site supervisors, contractors, and other team members to maintain workflow and site productivity.

Follow project plans, site instructions, and safety procedures at all times.

Support general labouring or site tasks where required to assist project delivery.

Maintain accurate records of machine use, maintenance checks, and operational activity where required.

Ensure all work is completed in accordance with WHS requirements and site regulations.
Role Requirements

Current and valid machine operator licences/tickets relevant to the plant being operated.

Demonstrated experience operating civil or construction machinery on active project sites.

Strong understanding of site safety procedures and machinery operating standards.

Ability to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment.

Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

White Card essential.

Current driver’s licence essential.

Additional tickets or competencies (e.g. excavator, skid steer, roller, loader, grader, water cart, HR licence, etc.) highly regarded.

Experience in residential subdivision, civil works, or land development projects will be highly regarded.
