Role Description

We are seeking experienced Site Supervisors / Leading Hand to support the day-to-day delivery of residential and community development projects. This is a full-time, on-site role operating across Northern Queensland (with a focus on the Whitsunday region) and the Gold Coast, with travel required between project sites as needed.

This role is responsible for overseeing on-site construction activities, coordinating subcontractors and trades, maintaining site safety and quality standards, and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and professionally. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, hands-on leader who can drive site productivity, maintain strong workmanship standards, and support successful project delivery from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily on-site construction activities.

• Lead site teams, trades, and subcontractors to maintain workflow, productivity, and build quality.

• Ensure safety, environmental, and quality standards are upheld at all times.

• Manage site scheduling, deliveries, subcontractor coordination, and inspections to meet programme milestones.

• Review construction drawings and site conditions, identify buildability issues, and escalate solutions where required.

• Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and regular safety checks in line with WHS legislation.

• Monitor progress, maintain accurate site records, and provide regular updates to Project Managers and senior management.

• Ensure works comply with QBCC requirements, NCC standards, approved plans, and relevant local authority conditions.

• Assist in defect identification, rectification, and final handover processes.

• Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure a smooth, efficient, and professional project outcome.

Role Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in site supervision, leading hand, or similar construction leadership roles across residential, townhouse, modular, or civil projects.

• QBCC Site Supervisor Licence (or ability to obtain) highly regarded.

• Proven ability to manage multiple trades and keep projects progressing to programme.

• Strong understanding of construction detailing, site sequencing, quality assurance, and safe work practices.

• Sound knowledge of building codes, compliance standards, and construction documentation.

• Strong leadership and communication skills with a hands-on, practical approach to problem-solving.

• Experience using site reporting tools and project management systems is advantageous.

• Current driver’s licence essential.

• Willingness and ability to travel between Whitsunday / Northern Queensland projects and the Gold Coast as required.
